For the summer of 2004, our family took a trip to China with Ritz Tours. It was a twelve-day trip that included stops to Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Xian, Guilin, and Guangzhou. After the tour, we went on to visit friends and family in Guangzhou and Hong Kong on our own for four days. We finally departed from Hong Kong in early September, exhausted from all the wondrous sightseeing of the trip. In all, we took seven plane trips (San Francisco -> Beijing -> Shanghai -> Xian -> Guilin -> Guangzhou/Hong Kong -> San Francisco -> Newark) and one ferry (Guangzhou -> Hong Kong) before arriving home.
